I was raised by my parents along with four other siblings. My brothers, sisters and I went to public school, homeschool and eventually went on to attend Grace Bible Christian Academy; where I graduated in 1991. I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1992. That same summer I met my soon to be wife, Heather and we were married the following February. While serving in the Air Force we had our first child, a son, Michael. For various reasons I took an early out of the service after two years and received an honorable discharge.

I worked for my brother's company (Hershberger Roofing) for about a year until I was hired at Denison Hydraulics, where I worked until the spring of 1999, and during this time we had our second child, a girl, Mykayla. I then started working for a local remodeling company where I worked my way up from help labor to project manager and salesman. After the company began down-sizing, I was back to being a lead carpenter in the field, so I finally took the plunge and started my own remodeling company in March 2005 - thus the birth of Cornerstone Remodeling Incorporated.
